Are you looking for things to do in Seville that are unique and different, then perhaps a night sleeping with the sharks at the famous Acuario de Sevilla – Seville Aquarium is the answer for anyone looking for the ultimate Seville experience!

The Acuario de Sevilla – Seville Aquarium is a modern aquarium that only opened at the end of 2014 and from the very beginning the aquarium has strived to offer visitors something different from the usual. From the range of species on display, to the wealth of information available throughout the aquarium, it is clear that the Acuario de Sevilla – Seville Aquarium is a very special attraction in Seville and the sleep with the sharks option allows it to stand out as one of the most unique and exciting things to do in Seville.

It is easy to book tickets to sleep with the sharks at the Seville Aquarium, however this option is only open with advanced booking and you need to make sure that you have a minimum of 15 people in your group for the Aquarium to run the experience.
Because the sleeping with the sharks experience at the aquarium in Seville is designed for groups this makes it a great option for people looking to take part in a unique birthday experience, wanting to offer employees an amazing evening with the sharks or ideal for family groups where every member and all of the generations can enjoy an exciting activity together while in Seville.

The sleep with the sharks experience involves heading into the impressive tunnel that cuts through the nine metre deep shark tank – one of the highlights of the Seville Aquarium. Inside the shark tank there are two female bull sharks and numerous other species of fish swimming around.

By waiting until night time guests taking part in the sleep with the sharks experience are able to see some of the amazing natural behaviour of these impressive sharks that have been swimming the oceans of the earth for millions of years with the tunnel location creating a feeling of being under the water with the sharks and part of their marine environment.

The Acuario de Sevilla – Seville Aquarium is one of the top things to do in Seville for all the family and is open throughout the year for guests making it a great choice on a wet day or when the temperatures become too hot during the summer months.

Inside the aquarium there are 35 different tanks housing some 7,000 creatures and 400 different species from all around the world. If you are a fan of marine biology this is a great opportunity to be able to get close to species without having to put on a wet suit or trying to find a coral reef in an exotic location!

Those who have limited knowledge of fish and marine life don’t need to worry because there is plenty of information all around the aquarium to let you know a little more about what you are looking at and to help you to identify the different species and where they are from in the world.

To help to bring all of the different species together and for people to be able to understand a little more about the fresh and salt water species in the tanks, the aquarium have used a clever technique of using the story of the journey of Ferdinand Magellan, 1519-1522, the famous expedition which became the first circumnavigation of the globe. This allows visitors to be able to begin in the fresh waters of the Guadalquivir river and then across to the Atlantic Ocean before travelling up the Amazon and over to the Pacific Ocean all under one roof and seeing all of the different species that exist in these areas along the way.

When you choose to sleep with the sharks at the Acuario de Sevilla – Seville Aquarium then it is well worth having the time before the session to be able to explore the rest of the aquarium fully so make sure you give yourself plenty of time so that you don’t have to skip any of the areas before heading off to the shark tunnel to get ready for a night of incredible shark watching.

The aquarium itself is located next to the river on Calle Santiago Montoro. If you are not familiar with Seville, this is close to the Puente Delicias and you can find the entrance just off from the roundabout by the 1929 Expo Pavilions of Morocco and Colombia. If you are in doubt then you can ask a local or a taxi driver to point you in the right direction to this area of Seville as it is a very well known part of the city.

Parking is available for cars and buses overnight for this experience and further information is available depending on the number of vehicles in the party.
