Buggy Safari Off Road Adventure
For adrenalin filled fun, get behind the wheel of a buggy and take to the Algarve countryside!
The buggy safaris set off from Karting Almancil and under the supervision of an experienced guide you are taken out into the wild of the Algarve for a journey to remember!
Karting Almancil is located in the Golden Triangle area of the Algarve and is just off the main EN125 road that runs along the Algarve so is easy to get to from Vilamoura, Quarteira, Loule and Faro.
Drive the buggy yourself and take a passenger along for the ride along tracks previously used by the WRC World Rally for a wild ride.
Drivers need to by over 18 and hold a full license but everything else you need for the experience is provided for you.
There are two different routes you can choose for your buggy safari, either a 17.5km trip or a 35km tour but both offering plenty of thrills and the chance to test your driving skills while enjoying a buggy adventure in the Algarve.
The Algarve remains a very rural region and you only have to travel a short distance to be able to find fantastic off road routes that are perfect for a buggy safari.

Probably one of the best parts of the buggy safari is that you drive the buggy yourself, which means you really are in control of your trip, although you won’t need to try to find the best routes because the guides will lead you along the best in the area including splashing through rivers and negotiating rocky roads and hills.
There are some really challenging parts on the buggy safari, thanks to sections being used in the past for the WRC World Rally, but don’t worry if you are not a confident driver because you can take it at your own speed and also feel safe knowing that the buggy is designed to be able to bump and twist over the tracks and terrain.
An Algarve buggy safari is suitable for children and adults but children must be over the age of 7 to take part and will of course need an adult to drive them! Drivers will need a full driving license, as at some points you are on national roads as you make your way to the off road tracks, and drivers also have to be over 18 years old.
There are two different routes you can choose for your buggy safari, the first, which takes place in the mornings, covers 17.5km and the second, held in the afternoons, takes you for 35km. If you are not sure which is the best buggy route for you and your group then just give us a call and a member of the team will be happy to go over everything with you to help you decide on the best one, as both offer their own specific highlights.
You set off on the buggy safari from Karting Almancil and quickly head off into the wild. It can get pretty dusty along the tracks in the summer when it has been dry but you are not only provided with a helmet but are also given a face mask to help with this before you start.
Be prepared to get at least a little wet and dirty (depending on how fast you drive of course) and it is a good idea to wear something comfortable for the trip.
Each buggy has two seats so you can take a passenger with you and if you are looking to do a buggy safari as a group outing then there are 10 buggies available in total, so up to 20 people can go at the same time.
The Algarve buggy safari is action packed and adrenalin filled and also a great way to see some of the countryside that is often missed when in the Algarve – although you may have to slow down to see it!
